Caleb B. SNIDER was born in 1825 in Taylor Co. He died in 1896 and is buried at Payne Cemetery at Thorton.His first wife Sarah is buried in Slab Camp Cemetery near South Point Methodist Church. She died in 1860 at the age of 35. Does anyone know her maiden name or parents. Buried in this cemetery near her were Dixons, Grimms and Hunts. Caleb and Sarah are my gg Grandparents and I would like to know her maiden name if possible.

Looking for information on the death date and burial place of Sarah Ann BONNER , born April 5, 1859. Sarah was the daughter of William BONNER , Jr. and Caroline Corley. She resided in Grafton, Taylor Co, and never married. Also, if anyone has information on her mother, Caroline Corley who married Francis POE after her first husband, William BONNER , died.

Need info on my grandmother Elizabeth WEBB who married Harry Olen DAVIS in 1915 and lived for many years in Simpson, Taylor County West Virginia. My aunts told me she came from England as a little girl and made her way to WVa via Canada somewhere around 1903 with brothers Bert, Alf and Jim. Elizabeth WEBB was born in 1896 and died in 1967. Several years before her death she married Harry McKay from Washington PA. I have been told her parents names were Thomas and Elizabeth (Morgan) WEBB . I can find no information on the WEBB family coming to West Virginia. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for Alford LOISEAU (or he may have gone by Harry) born abt. 1860 in Taylor Co. His wife was Emma M. GIBSON born abt 1859 in Greenbrier Co. Married on Apirl 18, 1882 in Kanawha Co. Two children (that I know of) Harry born 1890 and Murial Agnes (birth date unknown). Does anyone have any information about Alford or any of the above I've mentioned?

In the Taylor County marriages, it lists that on 1 January 1884 one Daniel G. PURKEY born about 1840 and Maggie WHITEHAIR born about 1856 were united in marriage. Does anyone have any information if they had children, when died, etc.? Any and all assistance will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you, Linda.

Hi, Looking for any info on Edward & Louisa HUFF , brother and sister. Ed was a railroad conductor. Louisa born 1863, died 1961, married to Amos STOLABARGER in Kansas. Their daughter was Caroline, born about 1880's and later moved back to Tennesse from Ks. Married ? They also raised Louisa's niece, Zetella B. Huff, also from WV. Parents? Zetella or Stella was my grandmother's mother. Grandma said her mother was originally from Grafton. Thank you. Deb.

Searching for information about Barbara SIMONS (abt1849-1895). I have bits and pieces for leads. #1My grandmother Ida COTTRELL told me this information. Her parents were James COTTRELL and Barbara SIMONS . Barbara died when she was 6 years old (1895). Barbara's parents were William and Susie SIMONS , and supposedly lived Roane, Clay, Ritchie Counties and general area. Cannot make any connections. #2R ecieved this information from B. King . COTTRILL , Barbara 46y 10/5/1895 Parents: Lair and Angeline B -n/g Informant: Rachel Simms(sister in law), Info from "Reported Deaths on Roane County-1856-1900" Barbara is also in "Roane County Marriages-1856-1919", W.Cochran as this SIMONS , Barbary 27 Barbour;Roane COTTRELL , James 22 Roane. I assume that Barbour may have been her birth place. #3 Lair SIMONS Co D 14 Regiment WV Inf Volunteers 1864 Ritchie Co. GENWEB #4 Lair SIMONS AGE 60 Joe Hooker GAR Ritchie Co. GENWEB date of muster in Joe Hooker GAR August 14 1886. Bottom line is I am trying to find Barbara SIMONS parents or which one of my info's is correct or neither of them. Any Help Certainly Appreciated.Thanks! I just found the 1850 Barbour Co. Census. There is a Barbara listed in the household of John SIMON and it shows a Lair SIMONS there also. I am so elated to find a Barbara SIMONS born but still not sure what is going on. Just looking at census it is possible that John was her father, but it is possible that Lair was married even though he is listed as 16 and that would have made him 14 when Barbara was born. So I hope she is my Barbara SIMONS and hope you can help. Bill Ashley

I just obtained a death certificate from the Wood Co. Courthouse and the place of birth was listed as "Federman, WV". Has anyone ever heard of this town? What county is it in? I did a search on the "Town Locater" on WVGenWeb and nothing came up. I think this individual is from Taylor Co. I'll post this one also on the Wood Co. Query Board.
