Is there anywhere online to research Taylor County Courthouse records such
as birth, death, marriage, etc. I am interested in researching the ancestors
and decendents of William Alfred WILSON . I think he was born in
Grafton around 1914 and died in 1998 and was married to Leora Frey. They
lived on High Street and on Walter Street in Grafton. Their first child
was Joanna Lee Wilson. His mother was Anna Mariah Adams and father may
have been John Wilson

James P. FLANAGAN of Grafton was my great-grandfather. He died April
1909 per one of Charles Brinkman's columns. It states he was the oldest
son of John and Mary FLANAGAN (so there must have been siblings).
It also says that he owned an establishment (I think that means tavern
or bar. Any help appreciated! Hello West Virginia! Bridget

PARRIOTT posted by Pamela

Source: History of Butler County Iowa, 1883; "Roby R. PARRIOTT was
born in Taylor County Virginia, February 2, 1808. He was the son of Richard
PARRIOTT
(born 1765 or before). They were of French/Welsh descent....Roby married
Abigail Howard, born in Ohio." In 1827 he emigrated to Vermilion County,
Indiana, and then on to Illinois. There he and other PARRIOTTs; Knighton,
Owen, Manly, Richard (perhaps his father), and Deborah, spent large amounts
of money purchasing many acres of land. Roby moved to Butler Co., Iowa
in 1854 where he purchased 2,500 acres. He was instrumental in getting
the railroad across Iowa, and is listed as a prominent person in the county
history. I have been unable to trace the family roots in Virginia. Many
descendants of the Parrott (no "i") family have placed Roby in their family
tree. I'm not convinced that he belongs there, as many Parrotts imigrated
to the colonies at different times in history. Thank you for your assistance--hope
you can find these people in your early census records, or other. Best
wishes, Pam Wheeler
