John W. Woomer, born 15 March 1840 in Nicholas County, (W) Virginia, was the son of George and Mary Anne (Thomas) Woomer. John married Frances Octavia Manuel 22 August 1865 at Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.

Allan Tischler reported on April 6, 2025 that John Woomer is buried at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia. - Indeed, he is, and Allan took photos of the soldier's grave. His widow, who died 15 Jan 1933, is interred there, as well.
