Interested in the history of the county?  One site that you must visit is  Beckley and Raleigh County history Page.  by Jeff Miller. He has done an awesome job presenting the history of Beckley/Raleigh County in a timeline format along with great photos and history!

If your family is from West Virginia, then you probably have an interest in the coal mining industry.  WVCoal Mines site, a special project of WV GenWeb.  has many photos, stories, memorials and a automated query board for you to ask questions about mines or miners.

Gracie Stover has a number of  Raleigh County cemeteries   listed at Gracie's Family History.

FayetteCounty Marriages 1830-1850 - Nyla Creed DePauk has put up all of the marriages from 1830-1850 at her site.  Includes date, names of brideand groom, and ministers.  Many of our early Raleigh couples were married in Fayette County.

The7th West Virginia Cavalry Page -  Fantastic site maintained by Steve Cunningham!  Rosters, regimental history, message board, and more.  Many of the Union soldiers from Raleigh County served in the7th WV, so if you have Union ancestors you will want to visit this page. This page is a part of the award winning "West Virginia in the Civil War"  web site, also maintained by Steve. You can find information there on both Confederate and Union soldiers from West Virginia.
