CLARENCE MOZENA, born 18 March 1895 at Ben's Run - in Pleasants County, W.Va., according to the birth record, which recorded his birth as occurring September 15, 1895. He was the son of Albert Wetzel Mozena and Elizabeth Jane "Jennie" Eddy, married in Pleasants County in 1894.

A daughter, Mary Mozena, was born in 1902 in Lytton, Pleasants County. Another daughter, Ethel, was born in Ohio about 1903, according to published genealogies.

The family is not found in the 1910 census, but these news articles likely pertain to this Mozena family, who are known to have moved from Pleasants County to Powhatan, Belmont County, Ohio. That is where the soldier, Clarence, was residing prior to enlisting. Jennie later returned to West Virginia and was living in Sistersville while Clarence was at war. She died of tuberculosis in 1919 in Tyler County.
