Sotha Hickman, the son of Arthur Hickman, was one of the earliest settlers of Harrison County, W. Va. He was born in Sugar Land Bottom on the Potomac River, near Rockville, Maryland. His wife was Elizabeth, daughter of Zachariah and Eleanor Davis. They settled in the Elk Creek Valley, in Quiet Dell. Sotha and many descendants are buried in the Haymond Cemetery.
