Seeking any background on John Walton, Monroe County, married to Frances Ann Burns (1842-1932), daughter of Andrew Burns and Mary Ann Booker. Children were Ada Dora, Josephine, "Letch," and perhaps William. Have traced Frances's family history back two generations, but hit deadend on John's background. Found her grave, but have not been able to find his death record or grave. She died while staying with her daughter in Allegheny County, VA.

ROSE/MOSS/PERSINGER - I am looking for information regarding my grandfather, Thomas Wesley ROSE born 08 May 1882 and died 03 Jul 1943 in Monroe Co, WV. He was married 08 Mar 1923 in Peterstown, Monroe Co., WV to Ella Mae PERSINGER born 31 Jan 1898, Ella was the daughter of William PERSINGER and Rosa MOSS. However, I suspect that Thomas was married prior to his marriage with Ella. He had the following children from the first marriage: Foster, Nettie (married a Blackburn), Hattie (married a Smallwood), Emmett, Minnie (married a Bailey), Leonard. The following children he shared with Ella: Mary b 1919, Florence b 1921, Cecil b 1923, Helen b 1930, Effie JoAnn b 1932, Paul b 1934, Ernest b 1939, and Carl b 1942. I understand that Effie JoAnn was born in Hemphill, WV on 25 May 1932. I do not have any information regarding Thomas' parents, sibs, or previous wife. My ggggrandfather, James Carr, was born in the Sweet Springs region of what is now Monroe County in 1794. His father could have been John Carr, his mother could have been a Rollison. From the 1820 Census, An old John is listed along with James, and Issac, I believe it to be father and sons. The oldest son was probably a John whom died 1n 1818 of war wounds from the War of 1812. I am looking for any info on this family.

A journal entry states that they visited the graves of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Albert in the grave yard of S.R. Hively near Clover Hollow, Monroe Co., WV. Six children: William Pine (1797-1879) married in WV and then moved west in 1853. Sarah (Sally) Pine (1799-1897) married Arch BOSTICK. James McGuire Pine (1808-1885) married Elizabeth MAHON and then Elizabeth INSCO, moved to Lawrence Co., Ohio in 1854. Elizabeth Pine (1811-1890) married John Humphrey KEYES. Robert N. Seeking any information concerning family and ancestry of Angel Connell (Connel, Conner) married in April 1782 to Mattie Fleming (Flemmen) by Rev. John Alderson in Greenbrier County, Virginia (now Monroe County, West Virginia). Angel Connell also appears in tax lists for 1783-86 in Greenbrier County and 1787 in Botetourt County. In 1791 he attests in Rev. Alderson's record that a James Parsons is dead.

My great grandfather, Price Henderson Gwynn (whom I believe was born Price henderson Gwinn)was reportedly born on October 8, 1861 in Lowell, Monroe County West Viriginia, but he left there to attend college in Virginia and never returned to live in West Virginia.
