Obituary from the Marshall Herald,
Col. John Parriott,
born July 29, 1791, is dead. The announcement of this event, strikes on the mind, as a vagarie of the night, rather than a solemn reality to those who were

Col. Parriott has been identified with the interests of this county,
during the greater part of his life. He has at various times been a
Representative in the Legislature, and also a member
of the State Senate, during several terms, at various periods, and was
intimately and favorably known to the leading men of the State and Nation. It was to his efforts, more than any other, that we are indebted

He leaves a family, and a large circle of
relatives, and friends to mourn his loss.
His remains were brought
to this place on the cars, on the day of his death, and on Wednesday were
consigned to the final resting place, in our village cemetery, followed by an
immense procession of friends and citizens.
