GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER, John Chedester, served in Company "I" of the 15th Regiment West Virginia Infantry during the Civil War. He died of wounds received September 3, 1864 at Berryville, Virginia.

William & Ola Chedester.

William Chedester and Ola (Lindley) Glendenning, both 26, and both widowed, were married in Ohio County on July 31, 1913. Ola's Lindley family settled in the Prosperity, Washington County, Pennsylvania area and established Fort Lindley on Ten Mile Creek. Her first husband was John Glendenning and he is buried in an unmarked grave at the McCreary Ridge Cemetery. His parents are also buried there. John died after after being sick most of the winter. He contracted pneumonia after going out riding and getting wet crossing Wheeling Creek on his horse.
