My name is Cathy Friedl,
and I am the coordinator for
the Harrison County WVGenWeb
page. Althought I don't reside
in West Virginia, I have
many Harrison County connections!
Harrison County was created
in 1784 from
Monongalia
County, (West) Virginia. At that
time, Harrison County included
all or parts of the
following counties:
Barbour,
Braxton,
Doddridge,
Gilmer,
Lewis,
Marion,
Randolph,
Ritchie,Taylor,
Upshur,
and Wood.
Records for residents of
all of these counties prior to
their formation will be
found in Harrison County and/or
Monongalia County.
