340-1 April 1852- Claudius Martin and Ann Eliza ux-J.P. Huddleston-Kanawha
River on N side of Kanawha River adjoining lands of John P. Huddleston
and Robert Short, being all the right title claim and interest of
him the said Claudius Martin and Ann Eliza his wife in and unto here
to fore owned by him the said Claudius late grandfather Nathan Huddleston
dec'd, as well as all the said Claudius claim and interest unto the
lands of his late father Nathan Martin now dec'd, a part of which
was purchased by said Nathan Martin of David Childers of the county
of Kanawha. Together with all right and interest in said lands that
will accrue to him the said Claudius Martin or his heirs at the death
of his grandmother Margaret Morris, who was the wife of said Nathan
Huddleston dec'd, she sharing the right of dower in said lands, unto
the said John P. Huddleston, his heirs and assigns forever, and the
said Claudius Martin and Ann Eliza his wife of the 1st part do hereby
covey for themselves and their heirs that they shall and will warrant
and forever defend the lands above sold unto the said John P. Huddleston,
his heirs and assigns forever free rom the claim or claims of all
persons whatever in witness where of the said Claudius Martin and
Ann Eliza his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals this day
and date above written.

This indenture made the first day of April in the year of our lord
one thousand eight hundred and fifty two between Claudius Martin
and Ann Eliza his wife of the 1st part of the county of Fayette
and state of Virginia and John P. Huddleston of said county and
state of the 2nd part, witnesseth that for a consideration of the
sum of twelve hundred dollars to them the said Claudius Martin and
Ann Eliza his wife, will and truly paid by the said John P. Huddleston,
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargains and sold
and by these presents doth hereby sell and convey a certain piece
or parcel of land situate in the county a foresaid.
